Every teacher needs to create a supportive and safe classroom environment, for students to become the best they can be. I aim for my classroom to have a creative and uplifting atmosphere where people can develop ideas to fulfill their full potential. My main goal is for all students to succeed: I promote independent learning and encourage students to solve problems with focused guidance. This in turn has an impact on future learning, develops responsibility for their own learning and resilience. I intend to instill departments with an unwavering commitment to providing quality first teaching, where staff are student focused and dedicated.
My background, I am a computer science teacher in the heart of west Cumbria. I am in my sixth year of teaching and four of those have been at my current school. I am the only teacher of GCSE and Alevel Computer Science and have revamped the curriculum to meet the needs of the local area and the demands from exam boards. At the end of the academic year 2018-19, I will be leaving my current setting to work in the Private Sector.
